This activity offered the students an opportunity to have some choice in their learning, they were very curious and engaged when investigating a personally interesting topic. They were also able to use some of the information literacy and research skills we work so hard on at school. These skills enable the students to be thoughtful finders and consumers of information. These skills are really important in the information rich learning environment we find ourselves in now days! Years ago our main problem as teachers was just finding some information to use with students. The challenge is now more about the thoughtful use of information to build understandings about concepts that will help students move successfully through their education and into the big wide world!

We will do another round of MILO at some point next term.

Here are some pics from the presentations.
